violet is a 'viola' - a semiaquatic herbivorous species, so-called because their vocalizations strongly resemble the stringed instrument. she is about 39 earth years old, but matching up human and viol ages is difficult. let's just call her 'young adult.'
violet is a software adaption specialist. getting technology to work between different cultures and technology plateaus is difficult. her specialty is computer archaeology, digging into the countless 'geological' layers of the hub's ancient sofware.
though part of the same project team as ouvvo, her focus is on the unknown vessel that brought the humans to the hub. breaking into jessica and chuck's gadgets was nothing - humans are on a lower plateau - but the vessel is another story. violet isn't quite sure why she was chosen for the job, given her expertise, but her boss insists that she's the one for the job.
she has a bit of a brief past as an internet celebrity, but shied away before it got anywhere big. this doesn't mean she's still entirely unknown, however... her mother is a famous fashion designer and she worries constantly all her success is solely due to her family connections, including her placement on her current project.
the pressure crack the vessel's systems is high. she wants to prove her ability, both to herself and to the increasingly impatient project lead.
