jessica is around 10-11 years old. she's a smart, diligent kid, that loves animals of all kinds and does pretty well in school. she's extremely friendly, to a fault..
her relationship with nana - her grandmother, chuck's mom - is much, much better than the one chuck had with her. nana, softening a bit with time and learning from her many, many mistakes, as well as help from Jessica's other grandparents, has become much better at taking care of a child, though still with plenty of faults.
jessica is very bright and happy, but underneath that is an anxious current, a fear of being abandoned. she avoids conflict and tries to never disappoint people's expectations in her.
interestingly, this dynamic is a bit shaken with Chuck coming back. she desperately, desperately wants to reconnect, to have her mother take her place in her life again, but.. she also resents her for leaving in the first place and chuck isn't the easiest to get along with.
